Our morning safari in Block 1 at Yala was absolutely incredible. We spotted a leopard within the first hour, resting on a rock just off the track. Our naturalist guide knew exactly where to look and positioned the jeep perfectly for photos. An experience we will never forget.

We visited several parks in Sri Lanka but Yala Block 1 was by far the best for leopard and wildlife sightings. The private jeep made it so much better with no rushing and plenty of time for photography. Our naturalist guide was fantastic, professional, and clearly knew every leopard territory in the park.

Everything was well organised from start to finish. Picked up on time from Tissamaharama, excellent guide who spoke great English, and we saw a leopard, elephants, mugger crocodiles along the Menik River, and dozens of birds at Palatupana Lagoon. The early morning timing was perfect for cooler weather and peak wildlife activity.

I could not believe our luck. Our guide took us deep into Block 1 and we saw two separate leopards in a single morning safari. He knew the movement patterns and predicted exactly where they would be. The private jeep meant we could stay as long as we wanted at each sighting. Worth every penny.

Took our kids (ages 7 and 10) on this Block 1 morning safari and it was perfect. The private jeep meant we could go at our own pace without rushing. Our guide was patient with all their questions about the leopards and elephants. The kids said it was the best day of their lives.

As a wildlife photographer, Yala Block 1 exceeded every expectation. The varied terrain of open plains, rocky outcrops, and coastal lagoons created stunning backdrops. Our guide understood my needs perfectly, positioning the jeep for the best light and angles. I got my best ever leopard shots here and will absolutely return.
